Each session will cover a different theme of Ipswich's history. You will develop your searching skills while you discover Ipswich's rich history with Picture Ipswich & More.

Themes:

Apr. - Ipswich's Military history
May - Wheels Go Round - Transport of Ipswich's past
Jun. - Ipswich's Place in Queensland's history - how Ipswich played an important part in the 150 yrs. of Queensland's history
Aug. -Ipswich's Sporting history
Oct. - Buildings and Businesses that made Ipswich great

What you will learn

  • Develop your search skills to help you search more effectively.
  • Learn about Picture Ipswich historical image database and other online resources
  • Increase your knowledge of Ipswich history.
  • Meet a local guest speaker on the topic.

These are 1.5 hour stand-alone sessions.

Sessions are free, but advance booking is required as spaces are strictly limited.

Sessions are held ONLY at the Ipswich Library, 40 South Street, Ipswich.

Sessions are finished for 2009. Please check back in early January for the 2010 Training Schedule.
