What are the benefits of becoming a Friend?

Being an active member of Friends not only benefits the Library Service, but also provides an excellent opportunity to add value to your own social life. You will meet like-minded and caring people at our events and monthly meetings. As a member, you will also be kept informed about current activities, events and projects by the Friends’ newspaper.

How do I become a Friend?

Membership is open to everyone over the age of 18. To join, simply complete a Membership Application Form and return this, along with the annual membership fee, to any Ipswich Library Service branch. Membership Application forms are available from any of our libraries.

Annual fees, which are due 1 January, are:

  • Single:                    $5.00
  • Family:                  $10.00
  • Corporate:            $50.00

Your contribution to the group will be much appreciated and we are always keen to accept fresh ideas and willing help from our new members.  Whether you wish to participate as an active member in the organisation and running of events  and projects, or as a supporting member, attending events and offering encouragement, is your choice to make.

When do Friends meet?

The Friends group meets at 5:30pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month in Study Room 2 on level 1 of the Ipswich Library and Information Service, 40 South Street, Ipswich.
